The 33-year-old actress is to take over the role of Judy Benjamin, originally played by Goldie Hawn, in the remake of the classic 1980 comedy, which follows a spoilt woman who joins the US army following the death of her husband on their wedding night.

The original movie picked up three Oscar nominations and was one of the biggest-grossing movies of the year on its release.
New Line Cinema is behind the remake, with Amy Talkington in negotiations to script the film and Mark Gordon set to produce, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
