Eun Young-joo to perform in HCM City

Korean pianist Eun Young-joo and the HCM City Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera will stage a charity concert this weekend to raise funds for children with disabilities.

They will perform F.Schubert’s Overture to Rosamunde for Orchestra and F.Chopin’s Concerto No 2 in F Minor for Piano and Orchestra.

They will also play Rhapsody in Blues for Piano and Orchestra by American composer G. Gershwine.

Born in 1973 in Seoul, Eun graduated in music from the Vienna Music Conservatory. She got her doctoral degree at the Gnessin Music Institute in Moscow in 2007. She has performed with several orchestras in Seoul, Vienna and Moscow, and works as a teacher for South Korea’s Sang-Myung University.

The orchestra will be led by renowned conductor Tran Vuong Thach.

The show is sponsored by the city’s Red Cross and Benthanh Art&Frame, with organisers saying all the ticket proceeds will be used to buy wheelchairs for disabled children in HCM City.

The show will open at 8pm tomorrow, November 14, at the Opera House in District 1. Tickets cost VND350,000 (US$18.72) and are available at the theatre.
