When I first saw the news on a facebook account, I thought it was a big joke.

However, it is later confirmed that Fil-German beauty queen Melody Gersbach has died in a horrible car accident this afternoon, August 21, 2010 in Bicol. According to ABS-CBN News, Melody with make-up artist Alden Ordense and two others were on their way from Albay to Naga when their car was hit by a passenger bus heading to Legazpi City.

The crash happened at Brgy. Pawili, Bula, Camarines Sur, that’s 15 minutes away from the famous CamSur Watersports Complex (CWC) and 30 minutes away from Naga City, where she was about to judge in the screening of Miss Bicolandia 2010 applicants. The report also said that she was also about to meet her boyfriend in Naga City.

Melody was Miss Bicolandia 2008 and Binibining Pilipinas-International 2009. She later competed in the Miss International 2009 pageant where she was a Top 15 semifinalist.

Melody Gersbach was only 25 years old and she died on the day the Philippines is commemorating the 26th Death anniversary of Ninoy Aquino.
