Kang Ji-hwan to star in Page One. Kang Ji-hwan has been cast in the upcoming SBS drama Page One, which is being directed by Full House and The World They Live In’s PD Pyo Min-soo, and has already cast Park Shi-yeon as its female lead. He plays a well-mannered novelist, who wrote a series of bestsellers at a young age and shot to early stardom. Park plays the head of a publishing company, with whom he has an interesting and odd relationship. A third character, yet-uncast, is a secretary with whom Kang’s character begins a bickering romance. Writing the drama is Song Jae-jung of Unstoppable High Kick.

Kang has been mired in contract disputes with his former management company in recent months, and therefore there was a lot of worry over whether he would be prevented from acting for an extended period of time. The issue is not yet resolved, so there’s some speculation over whether it will affect this role, but hopefully it won’t. You may recall that Lee Jun-ki also faced a similar threat of being kept from acting by his ex-management company, but they worked things out.

Page One will take over the Oh My Lady timeslot on Mondays and Tuesdays, which means it’ll air in the earlier (9pm) hour, continuing SBS’s decision to expand its prime-time programming on those two nights.

(Also: I’ve pretty much given up on the whole MINE-ing of various actors, just ’cause I suppose we should all share in our unhealthy obsessions rather than insist upon monopolizing our claims. But I’m really gonna have to stick to this one, ’cause y’all know Kang Ji-hwan really IS mine, right??)
