The shooting of Hon Ma Sieu Quay or Mischievous Ghost in English, the Vietnam’s first 3D feature movie project, kicked off on July 10, 2010. Vietnamese hotgirl Elly Tran Ha (Elly Kim Hong) will star a “teen ghost” character in this new film.
The film is scheduled to be screened at domestic cinemas during Tet 2011.

“Hon Ma Sieu Quay” is a humorous and thrilling film about writer Nam Linh, who is controlled by a group of teen ghosts. The writer finally discovers the secret of this group and uncovers the mystery of his son.

The film will be produced at the cost of over $1 million. 3D advisor for the project is Percy Fung, Digital Magic Hong Kong’s general director.

Director and script-writer Le Bao Trung noted that this film will be shot with 3D cameras from Hong Kong. There will have 2D and 3D versions to serve audiences in locations without 3D projection rooms. To prepare for this project, Trung attended a 3D technology course for Asian movie directors in Hong Kong.
The film’s actors are all young and some are famous teen singers, including Wanbi Tuan Anh, Truong Quynh Anh, Tim, Thien Minh, Elly Tran and Vinh Thuyen Kim and famous comedian Hoai Linh.
The film will be shot at HCM City’s Le Hong Phong High School in an ancient villa in Dong Nai province.
