MISS KOREA 2009 KIM JURI

The 2009 Miss Korea beauty pageant was held on Wednesday night (08 July) at the Sejong Center for Performing Arts in Seoul. The event, which started at 7PM, featured 56 young Koreans from all-over the country and abroad.

Miss Kim Juri entered the competition as Miss Seoul and won the title.

Kim Juri is a 21-yr old graduate of the Bolshoi Ballet School. She is the 53rd Miss Korea. She was born in Seoul in 1988, stands 171 cm and weighs 52 kg. She speaks fluent English and Russian.

And after she was awarded the crown, she said in an interview “Although I’ve become Miss Korea, my dream is to be a ballerina. As a Korean ballerina, I would like to show the world the pride and beauty of Korea’s women.”

Kim also dreams to be a talented diplomat and always strives for her aspiration. She used to said that she wished everybody would not give up their dreams, as a long time ago, she had never thought that she would come to this position but she had done. She also advised that anyone who truly has a wish to become Miss Korea, she should try and some day the glory would come.

The new Miss Koreas will represent Korea at Miss Universe, Miss International, Miss World, Miss Earth and Miss International pageants

Photogenic Award: Wang Ji-hye
Korean Abroad Award: Kwon Ri-sae
Popularity Award: Park Ye-joo
