Tina Tinh was stripped of the role of Mai in “Deal With it To Tomorrow” in the last minute. The role will be taken up by the American Vietnamese actress Kathy Uyen.
It all started after the onstage collapse of Tina Tinh during her performance in late August, just 2 days before the scheduled shooting of the film. There has been rumor that Tina Tinh involved in drug and prostitution, AIDS carrier. The poor Tina Tinh denied such groundless accusations and rumors by testing negative.
However, that was not enough to save her the role. Chanh Nam Films stripped of Tina the role for their own safety.
Charlie Nguyen, director of the film, commented that this is truly a sad decision and that whoever started the rumor must’ve had cruel & selfish intentions. Nguyen also adds that, hopefully, he’ll get a chance to cooperate with Tina again.
