Miss Mauritius 1993 Viveka Babaji was found dead inside her apartment at suburban Bandra, Mumbai on 27 June. She is reported to have hung herself from the ceiling fan in her room.

Neighbours smelt of gas leakage from Viveka’s house and rang the door bell. There was no answer so they reported to the police. Police have suspected that it could be a case of suicide and still awaiting for the post mortem report. Her family sources say that she was depressed after breaking up with her boyfriend, but the police have not recovered any suicide note from the house.
She is reported to have hung herself from the ceiling fan in her room.
Viveka has featured in numerous ads including Kamasutra condoms and Live In Jeans. She has also acted in a couple of Bollywood films including YEH KAISI MOHABBAT. According to the police, Babajee had shifted base to Mauritius a couple of years ago. She was staying alone in Mumbai.
