Campbell, Miss Australia and Miss Universe 2nd runner up claims she was sabotaged. Yes, Campbell claims her Miss Universe chances were hurt when her costume was sabotaged by another contestant(s) when it was lined with pins. According to her, “I felt these sharp pains when something stuck into my back. I took the top off and found all these pins had been stuck into it.”

Jesinta turned 19 while Natalia's now 23 years old.

Miss Australia did not name names but Campbell remarked that contestants from Mexico, South and Central America, and the Philippines were notably
aggressive in the competition, implying that they may be behind it! “Winning is so important for those girls because they become queens and are worshiped if they win, and it changes everything forever for them.”

South and Central American beauties have always done well in international beauty pageants. They are always well-prepared and “aggressive”. At this year’s Miss Universe, several South American countries made it to the top 15. Miss Mexico won the title. Miss Philippines was 4th runner up.

Her claims of sabotage is nothing new. Many other LOSING beauty pageant contestants in the past have made claims of sabotage. And they were never proven right. The costume Miss Australia is talking about, though, had been the subject of controversy even before the pageant. Many have called it “horrendous” and reports have labeled it “a travesty”. Frankly, the costume didn’t need sabotaging!

One more thing, pointing out that other contestants are overly aggressive and thus making them “suspects’ in her sabotaging claim is wrong. Nothing wrong with being aggressive. Miss Universe after all is a COMPETITION. Other girls want it badly, others don’t. No point in finding fault for being extra competitive.

It is always disappointing to read of such claims after losing a competition.
